What does TPU mean?

Posted: September 22, 2010 in General

Have you ever shopped for a cellphone case and noticed material descriptions stating, “made from TPU material” or “TPU case?”  What in the world is TPU??!  The Perfect Unit?  Toughest Product Use?

It means none of those…  According to the awesome Wikipedia, TPU is short for Thermoplastic Polyurethanes.  It’s a type of plastic, a tough piece of plastic, elastic, rubber-like, resistant to oil and grease, and nicks and scratches.  With high tear strength, it makes sense to have this strong, durable material to protect your mobile devices.

Check out some of the iPhone 4 cases that we offer in a variety of colors; perhaps a nice red one, or how about a colorless one?

We have iPad cases also offered in TPU, like this nice smokey grey case.
